Nicholai Khan is a Trinidadian born, New York based artist, who has been creating art from the age of two years old to present. His strategic use of color and light in his artwork is a product of his tropical surroundings as a child. The use of texture and his ultra stylistic form of expression is related to the graffiti culture and gallery’s he was exposed to In NYC upon his arrival to Manhattan in the mid 1980's.
Nicholai's works can be currently seen in public exhibitions and galleries in places like Paris, London, Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, Miami, NYC, and many other locations. He has also done many murals on the infamous 5 pointz building in Long Island city Queens. Now his work can also be permanently seen at MOSA (the “Museum Of Street Art”).
His mission as an artist is to have everyone exposed to art in any way possible, wether it be through live paintings, commissioned pieces on police precincts, art galleries, schools, indoor murals, outdoor productions, stages, television shows, fashion shows, music videos and even on widespread media (NY Times, Channel 11 news, fox 5 news, and in the Source Magazines “power 30 issue”. Khan uses self expression as a way of teaching and enlightening his audience.
